Using ear plugs is a great way to study. There are those who believe that they simply do study best with the radio or TV on in the background, but that doesn’t mean that they’re actually savoring the music or chatter. It might be that they have just begun to associate such noise with the “study-state-of-mind” in much the same way Pavlov’s dog associated the ringing of a bell with food. And, naturally, if that’s what works for them, more power to them — other than when it comes to bothering others.
